Gandhinagar: Gujarat government arm, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. has acquired 7.28% stake in Torrent Power Ltd by having 3.5 crore shares via off-market deals on Sept. 25, Torrent said in an exchange filing on Thursday. The Gujarat government has an equity holding of 1.47% in Torrent Power, while the Gujarat State Financial Services Ltd. has 9.75%. Torrent Power supplies electricity Ahmedabad, Surat, Gandhinagar, Dahej SEZ , Dholera SIR and Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.
