77 places in Gujarat receive rainfall on 8th day of Navratri

Surat: Although the monsoon has left most areas of the state, a well-defined low-pressure system over the east-central Arabian Sea, near the Karnataka-Goa coast, caused rainfall in parts of Gujarat in the hours leading up to 6 AM today. As many as 77 talukas in Gujarat received rainfall during this 24-hour period, with 17 talukas recording over an inch of rain. Valod taluka experienced heavy rain with 77 mm (3 inches), followed by Vyara with 73 mm (2.8 inches), and Dolvan with 69 mm (2.6 inches), making Tapi district the only district to experience heavy rainfall. Other talukas that received over an inch of rain included Koidnar, Palsana, Mangrol, Mahuva, Gandevi, Surat City, Kamrej, Songadh, Mandvi, Sutrapada, Subir, Khergam, Mahuva (Bhavnagar), and Chikli.

Rainfall during this 24-hour period was primarily concentrated in the coastal areas of South Gujarat and some coastal places in Saurashtra. DeshGujarat
