Centre approves Rs. 93 crore for flyovers at Abhva-Khajod Chowkdi on NH53 in Surat

Surat: As part of major developmental works in the Choryasi Assembly constituency, the Government of India has approved a grant of Rs. 93 crore for the construction of flyovers at Abhva and Khajod Chowkdi on National Highway 53, which connects Hazira with Paradeep Port in Odisha.

The proposal for this project was presented by the MLA of Choryasi, Sandeep Desai, to the Union Minister of Jal Shakti and Gujarat BJP President, C.R. Patil. Following their representations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, this approval has been granted. Due to heavy vehicle movement from large industries around Hazira, the Diamond Bourse, Sachin-Pandesara GIDC, Hojivala Industrial Estate, and SEZ, there had been constant traffic congestion at Abhva and Khajod Chowkdi. The new flyovers will provide a permanent solution to this issue.

Sachin Industrial Society President Nilesh Gami and Secretary Mayur Golwala stated that the long-standing request for the construction of a flyover at the accident-prone traffic zone has been fulfilled. The NHAI has approved a total of Rs. 93 crore for the project: Rs. 36 crore for the flyover at Abhva Chowkdi on the Dholiya-Hazira Road, Rs. 47 crore for the flyover at Khajod Chowkdi, and Rs. 10 crore for utility shifting. We welcome this approval and express our gratitude to both leaders on behalf of GIDC for their support.

The implementation of this project will be carried out by the National Highways Authority of India, and it is hoped that the completion of this work will provide a long-term solution to the traffic problems. DeshGujarat
