Gujarat enables DBT for over 200 schemes; records 88 crore Aadhaar authentications in 2 years

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government on Friday announced that its Science and Technology Department has recorded approximately 88 crore Aadhaar authentications between FY 2022 and November 2024.

On average, 5 crore Aadhaar authentication applications are successfully processed monthly across various departments, with a daily average of 22 lakh. During this period, 18 crore authentications were recorded in FY 2022-23, 22 crore in FY 2023-24, and 48 crore until November 2024, amounting to a total of 88 crore authentications across the state.

Meanwhile, to fulfil the vision of Digital Gujarat, over 200 schemes from nine state departments were registered between 2022 and 2024, enabling beneficiaries to receive aid via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.

Face Authentication Application

To enhance the accuracy of authentication verification, the Face Authentication Application was developed. As a result, over 60 lakh citizens have completed Aadhaar authentication through this application between FY 2022 and November 2024.

Single Sign-On Application

The Single Sign-On (SSO) Application was introduced to enable citizens to access multiple government services and schemes online from the comfort of their homes. This system establishes a digital identity for citizens by integrating key services such as Aadhaar, PAN, student IDs, ration cards, and driving licenses, creating a unified identity. It facilitates secure data capture and sharing across departments to provide seamless access to government benefits.

Through this system, government services and schemes are now at citizens’ fingertips. Additionally, this paperless approach has led to significant savings in both time and costs. DeshGujarat
