Gujarat Police warns against holding DJ nights without permission on New Year’s Eve

Gandhinagar: Amid the countdown to the New Year celebrations, the State Police Chief, Vikas Sahay, held a meeting with all the Police Commissioners and District Police Chiefs of the state via video conference. During the meeting, they were instructed to conduct thorough checks with breath analyzers on public roads and entry-exit points in their respective districts. Additionally, meetings were held with all the DJ night event organizers to ensure proper precautions. They were instructed to ensure safety and warned that strict action would be taken against organizers hosting DJ nights without police permission on New Year’s Eve. Furthermore, action would be taken if any prohibited substances or narcotics were found.

Following the instructions of the State Police Chief, police officials from all cities and districts have held meetings with the owners of hotels, guest houses, farmhouses, and party plots. Strict instructions were given that if any illegal activity occurs at event venues or prohibited items, including narcotics, are found during checks, severe action will be taken against the organizers. No organizer will be allowed to host musical nights or events/performances related to New Year celebrations without police permission. For safety reasons, the organizers were also asked to provide information on the estimated number of attendees at their events.

All Police Commissioners and District Police Chiefs have formulated an action plan to ensure that law and order are maintained, with strict checks on prohibited substances and narcotics, as well as smooth traffic management. DeshGujarat
