January 06, 2025
Sabarmati: The Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2025, being held at the Sabarmati Riverfront, has been witnessing an overwhelming number of visitors. The massive footfall has resulted in significant traffic congestion on Sunday on Riverfront Road, with motorists seen standing in long queues stretching from Sardar Bridge to Nehru Bridge, and further to Ellis Bridge during the evening peak traffic hours.
Over the weekend, the cumulative effect of this traffic jam was also visible on Sardar Bridge over the Sabarmati River, particularly from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial (Sanskardham) towards Jamalpur. On Sunday, the traffic congestion was caused by over 90,000 visitors flocking to the Flower Show. As of 9 PM on Sunday, a total of 90,693 tickets had been sold, including 18,238 for children and 72,555 for adults.
The event has generated significant revenue for the Amdabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), with ticket sales contributing ₹8,255,050 in total on January 5th. A total of ₹3,683,350 was collected in cash, while UPI payments accounted for ₹1,068,150. Additionally, ₹3,503,550 was earned through online ticket sales.
