Boating services to resume at Nal Sarovar soon
January 09, 2025
Ahmedabad: In good news for tourists and bird enthusiasts, boating services at Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary are set to resume soon. Boating was previously banned across lakes in the state following the Harni Lake boat tragedy in Vadodara.
However, during a meeting on Wednesday, the Ahmedabad District Collector assured boat owners that their applications for boating permissions would be processed without delay.
This largest wetland, covering over 120 square kilometers near Sanand, is already seeing the arrival of migratory birds, signaling the peak season. However, due to the boating ban, a decline in tourist numbers has been reported during the busy season for bird watching. Now, with the standard operating procedure (SOP) for boating already established, approvals will be issued in line with these guidelines. DeshGujarat
