Gandhinagar: Banta Soda, Goli Pop Soda, and Green Bottled Soda are not just childhood memories but lifelong ones. And now, don’t be surprised if you see people from the UK, America, or Saudi Arabia enjoying Banta Soda. This traditional and widely consumed cold drink in India and Gujarat has now reached the global market.
Recently, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), operating under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Union Government, virtually flagged off the first sea shipment of Goli Pop Soda from Bharuch. It can now be proudly said that the taste of Made in Gujarat soda is reaching across the seven seas.
Goli Pop Soda is a modern revival of India’s Goli Soda. It has gained international recognition for its taste and innovative pop-opener mechanism. Available in various flavors, including a sugar-free variant, the soda manufactured in Bharuch has been successfully trial-shipped to the UK, Europe, and Gulf countries. Following this, ABNN Exports has achieved a significant milestone by partnering with Fair Exports India for the continuous supply of Goli Pop Soda to one of the largest retail chains in the Gulf region, Lulu Hypermarket. As a result, Goli Pop Soda will soon be seen in malls across the world.
During the virtual flag-off event, APEDA Chairman Shri Abhishek Dev emphasized APEDA’s commitment to supporting Indian brands in global markets and promoting the export of unique Indian non-alcoholic beverages. APEDA is actively participating in major international trade fairs such as the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) in London, UK; Seoul Food & Hotel in South Korea; Big Seven in Johannesburg, South Africa; Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, USA; and Fine Food Australia. Through these exhibitions, APEDA aims to increase India’s presence in the global food and beverage sector by creating new opportunities for Indian exporters. APEDA’s Gujarat unit is also committed to assisting other manufacturers in exporting, he said.
