Vadodara airport may get Dubai connectivity this year
February 14, 2025
Vadodara: Vadodara Airport is poised to take a major leap in connectivity with the launch of debut international flights to Dubai within the next three months. This announcement was made by the newly appointed Airport Director, M.S.I. Dawood, who expressed confidence that this would mark the beginning of night operations for the airport.
The new integrated terminal building, a ₹160 crore project, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October 2016, with possibilities of international connectivity on the horizon. However, due to Vadodara airport’s location, just around an hour away from Ahmedabad based SVPI international airport, most airlines prefere to operate flights from Ahmedabad instead of Vadodara.
In preparation for the international operations, customs and immigration officials have already been instructed to be ready and are expected to assume their duties at Vadodara Airport soon. The airport is equipped with capacity to host Airbus-320 or 321 type aircraft that are commonly used for international flights in India in 80 percent cases. DeshGujarat
