45-floor tallest skyscraper of Ahmedabad to come up in Gota; govt approval sought
March 04, 2025
Ahmedabad: With the increasing high-rise developments along SG Road and surrounding areas, the city’s tallest commercial building, standing at 150 metres, is set to be constructed opposite Nirma University in the Gota ward. A proposal for the project has been submitted to the state government’s special technical committee for approval.
Once approved, this structure will surpass Ahmedabad’s current tallest commercial building—a 147-metre, 43-floor tower near Rajpath Club. The new high-rise is expected to exceed 45 floors. Ahmedabad is leading Gujarat’s vertical expansion, with the municipal corporation approving 23 high-rises, including 18 residential and five commercial buildings above 100 metres. The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) has also sanctioned six such towers, with five more awaiting approval.
The state government began approving buildings over 100 metres tall in 2021 across Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, and Gandhinagar. As of September 3, 2024, government data shows that two such buildings have been approved in Gandhinagar and Surat, while one has been sanctioned in Vadodara.
