The plane belonging to a Delhi-based private aviation academy named Vision Flying Training Institute (VFTI) had taken off from Amreli airport and went down around 12:30 pm due to unknown reasons.

The aircraft hit a tree before crash-landing in an open plot near the Shastri Nagar area, which helped avert further casualties. The plane caught fire following the crash, but no other injuries were reported. Police have launched an investigation and initiated an accidental death case. It is learnt that the aircraft that crashed was reportedly the Tecnam P2008 JC, a two-seat, single-engine, high-wing aircraft designed and manufactured by Tecnam in Italy.

The VFTI provides courses for Commercial Pilot License, Private Pilot License, conversion flying, and Ground School.

It is worth mentioning that some time ago, a plane with a solo trainee lady pilot had crashed on the outskirts of a village in Mehsana. However, the lady pilot had survived with minor injuries. DeshGujarat
