Gujarat Tour Operators to Boycott Azerbaijan and Turkey tour packages, bookings
May 11, 2025
Ahmedabad: Tour Operators’ Association in Gujarat has decided not to offer or take bookings of Azerbaijan and Türkiye (Turkey) as both these countries openly backed Pakistan during Operation Sindoor launched by India to avenge Pahalgam terror attack.
While both Azerbaijan and Turkey had openly declared support to **Pakistan**, going against the interests of India, Turkey had taken one step forward and provided drones to Pakistan that were used by Pakistan during ongoing Operation Sindoor.
Thousands of tourists from Gujarat have visited Baku in Azerbaijan and Turkey in recent years as tourists. The number of Gujarati tourists in Turkey is so high that the country held a roadshow in Ahmedabad in recent years. The flow of Gujarati tourists to Baku has been so high in recent years, that Azerbaijan Airlines has declared start of direct air connectivity between Ahmedabad and Baku recently.
Meanwhile, tour operators are facing the issue of huge cancellation of summer vacation packages by Gujarati tourists to northern Indian parts that are presently facing air connectivity issues due to NOTAM. Almost all tour packages to Jammu & Kashmir are cancelled due to war-like situation there. Tour operators have issued refunds in some cases and credit notes in some other cases. DeshGujarat
