June 06, 2025
Himmatnagar: In a major step forward in its sustainability efforts, McCain Foods India has unveiled its first Regenerative Agriculture Demonstration Farm in Hajipur village of Himmatnagar taluka.
This initiative is part of McCain’s global objective to transition 100% of its farming partners to regenerative agricultural methods by 2030. The demonstration farm is designed as a practical, real-world example of how innovation and localized solutions can help farmers shift to more sustainable methods.
The farm will showcase core principles of regenerative agriculture, such as:
-
Cover cropping and crop rotation to improve biodiversity and soil quality
-
Minimized chemical use to support ecological balance
-
Efficient water usage through precision farming techniques
-
Enhanced soil health for lasting productivity
The farm will offer farmers, McCain staff, agricultural experts, and partners a chance to observe and adopt regenerative practices tailored to local conditions. Sabarkantha was chosen for this pilot due to its role as a key growing area for McCain, supported by suitable agro-climatic conditions and a committed community of farmers. DeshGujarat
