Zerodha co-founder backs Surat-based Goldi Solar with ₹137.5 crore investment

Surat: Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of brokerage firm Zerodha, on Monday announced an investment of ₹137.5 crore in solar PV module maker Goldi Solar for an undisclosed equity stake.
The Gujarat-based company plans to use the funds to fuel its expansion, according to a statement. “Renewable energy in India offers immense potential, and there is a significant opportunity to create world-class companies from here,” Kamath said.
Over the past year, Goldi Solar has ramped up its solar PV module manufacturing capacity from 3 GW to 14.7 GW and is also working on expanding its solar cell production facilities in Surat, Gujarat, the statement added. DeshGujarat
