Man Arrested for Making Derogatory Remarks About Hindu Deities, Video Removed from Social Media

Vadodara: Bapod police have arrested a man for allegedly making derogatory comments about Hindu gods and goddesses on social media. The accused, identified as Nilesh Nanji Jitiya, a resident of Maninagar, Khodiyar Nagar, was produced before a court. He has been sent to judicial custody.
According to police officials, Karanbhai Shantilal Solanki, a resident of Liliya taluka in Amreli district, lodged a complaint against Jitiya at the Bapod police station. The complaint stated that the accused, who operates his own YouTube channel, had uploaded a controversial video in which he allegedly made insulting remarks about Hindu deities.
The controversy began when Jitiya reportedly posted an image showing Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Shri Ram in “offending manner”, sparking a verbal clash online. Following the backlash, Jitiya allegedly went live on social media and made further objectionable comments about Hindu gods and goddesses.
Bapod police acted on the complaint, arrested the accused, and subsequently deleted the offensive video from YouTube and other platforms.
Police officials confirmed that Jitiya was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. Further investigation is underway.
