Bhuj Railway Station redevelopment 75% complete; Station building to be ready by April 2026

Kutch: The redevelopment of the New Bhuj Railway Station, at a cost of ₹200 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, is progressing rapidly, with more than 75% of the work completed. The new station will be a beautiful blend of modernity and the traditional architecture of Kutch.
Key Features of the station:

Main station building: 1.37 lakh sq. ft; second entrance building: 11,600 sq. ft.

35,000 sq. ft spacious concourse and 8,000 sq. ft modern waiting area.

3-foot overbridge, 13 lifts, 10 escalators, CCTV, Wi-Fi, and HVAC system.

500 KWP solar plant, rainwater harvesting, green area, and eco-friendly design.
The station building is expected to be completed by April 2026, an official of the Divisional Railway Manager’s office, Ahmedabad Division, Western Railway, said.
Furthermore, two new pit lines are being constructed at the Bhuj station yard, which will increase capacity for train operations and rake maintenance. The Bhuj–Naliya (101.40 km) metre-gauge line was converted to broad gauge and dedicated to the nation on October 28, 2024, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Naliya–Jakhau Port line (28.88 km) is currently under progress and will enhance port connectivity and promote industrial development in the region.
The Deshalpar–Hajipir–Luna and Vayor–Lakhpat new rail line projects, costing ₹2,526 crore, have also been approved. These projects will connect remote areas of Kutch to the rail network and play a key role in boosting tourism, trade, defence, and regional development. DeshGujarat
