10-km Traffic Snarl on NH-48 Near Ankleshwar for Second Consecutive Day
November 23, 2025
Ankleshwar: Hundreds of commuters were stranded on National Highway-48 near Ankleshwar on Wednesday as a massive traffic jam stretched nearly 10 kilometres for the second consecutive day, causing severe inconvenience to motorists.
Vehicles moving from Bharuch towards Surat were caught in a long and slow-moving queue from Motali Patiya up to Rajpipla Chowkdi and Valia intersection. Drivers reported being stuck for extended periods, with many describing the situation as exhausting and stressful.
Motorists said the recurring jams are primarily due to the narrow overbridge on the highway, which restricts smooth vehicle movement and triggers bottlenecks during peak hours. Despite repeated disruptions, commuters allege that no substantial measures have been taken by the authorities to address the issue.
The persistent congestion has left many drivers frustrated, with calls growing for immediate intervention and long-term solutions to ease traffic flow on this busy stretch of NH-48.
