Gandhinagar: In his address in Good Governance Day function here, Gujarat Chief Minister shared his interesting meet with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past.
The Chief Minister said – ‘Whenever we meet the Prime Minister, there is no exchange of formal pleasantries like “how are you.” The discussion begins straight away on work—what has been accomplished, where projects have faced bottlenecks, and how those issues can be resolved. Not a single minute is wasted.’
‘Let me share one of my experiences. After I took oath as Chief Minister for the second time, I had the opportunity to sit alone with Saheb. During our discussion on work culture, he told me that every morning he receives his schedule for the entire day. If he finds even a 10-minute gap anywhere, he immediately sends it back with instructions to fill that time with additional work and resubmit a complete schedule.’
‘I told the Prime Minister that in Gujarat’s Chief Minister’s Office, it is somewhat the opposite. Curious, he asked why. I explained that when we receive a schedule with a 10-minute gap, we send it back asking not for less work, but for a longer break—at least 25 to 30 minutes.’
The Chief Minister further said – ‘This, in itself, reflects the Prime Minister’s extraordinary efficiency. There is not a single free minute in his schedule, and every moment is devoted to work in the public interest.’
