Dandi-Hansot six-lane coastal highway project approved
December 29, 2025
Ankleshwar: The Dandi Coastal Link Road, a six-lane coastal highway between Dandi in South Gujarat and Hansot in Central Gujarat, aimed at boosting connectivity and development, has received government approval. Once completed, travel between Dandi and Hansot will be reduced from 60 km and nearly 90 minutes to around 30 km in just 30 minutes.
The project is also expected to benefit South Gujarat commuters once the proposed sea route linking Hansot’s Kantiyabar area with Bhavnagar becomes operational.
The coastal highway is likely to boost tourism at Dandi and Mor Beach in Olpad, attract new industries to the coastal belt, and generate employment in tourism, transport, and logistics. Farmers in South Gujarat are expected to benefit from faster movement of goods, while improved infrastructure is likely to raise land values in surrounding areas.
Overall, the project is set to cut travel time and fuel costs while opening new avenues for economic growth and self-employment along the coast. DeshGujarat
