PM Modi inaugurates Bhaijipura Flyover on Gandhinagar – Ahmedabad Airport Road
March 31, 2026
Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to his home state Gujarat today, inaugurated a new flyover at Bhaijipura Junction on the busy Gandhinagar–Koba–Airport Road. The project, inaugurated along with other infrastructure projects worth ₹19,800 crore from Vav-Tharad district, is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.
The road linking Gandhinagar to the airport currently handles more than 1.4 lakh vehicles daily, making it one of the busiest corridors in the region. The newly built flyover at Bhaijipura Junction is designed to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow from CH-0 Junction to the airport, helping ease persistent congestion faced by commuters.
Constructed parallel to the main road, the 27-metre-wide, six-lane flyover spans about 1 km and consists of seven spans. Footpaths measuring 1.5 metres have been provided on both sides to enhance pedestrian safety.
To address the lack of organised parking in the area, the space beneath the flyover will be developed into a dedicated parking facility. This will benefit nearby commercial establishments, residents, and daily commuters, offering a practical solution for parking and improving overall traffic management in the vicinity. DeshGujarat
