PM Modi to Be in Jamnagar, Somnath, Vadodara During Two-Day Gujarat Visit; Here’s His Full Itinerary

Somnath: Gujarat government spokesperson minister Jitu Vaghani on Friday announced the detailed itinerary for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Gujarat, during which he will participate in the “Somnath Virasat Ke 75 Saal” celebrations and attend events in Jamnagar, Somnath and Vadodara.

The visit marks the 75th anniversary celebrations of the reconstruction of Somnath Temple and the fulfillment of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision for rebuilding the temple, the minister said.

According to Vaghani, the Prime Minister will arrive in Jamnagar from Hyderabad on the night of May 10 between 9:30 pm and 9:45 pm. A welcome has been planned at Lal Bungalow Circle in Jamnagar, where local leaders and ministers, including Arjun Modhwadia, Rivaba Jadeja and Jamnagar MP Poonam Madam, are expected to receive him. The Prime Minister will stay overnight in Jamnagar.

On May 11, Modi will arrive at the Somnath helipad at around 9:45 am. A roadshow of over one kilometre has been planned from the helipad to the temple area, including a special welcome near the Hamirji Gohil statue.

Upon reaching the temple premises, the Prime Minister will be welcomed by Rishikumars chanting Vedic hymns. He is scheduled to perform various rituals, including Kumbha Abhishek, Dhvaja Puja, Mahapuja and recitation of the Mrityunjay Mantra.

One of the key attractions of the event will be a special air show by the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, which will perform aerial manoeuvres over Somnath for the first time in the Prabhas region. Helicopter flower showers have also been planned during the ceremony.

Vaghani said members of the Bengali community in Gujarat have requested a dedicated stage to welcome the Prime Minister in traditional attire during the event. Following the temple programme, Modi will address a public gathering at Sadbhavana Ground in Somnath.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will travel to Vadodara via Rajkot and is expected to arrive at around 4:45 pm. He will inaugurate the Sardardham unit in Vadodara and interact with leaders of the Patidar community as well as representatives of social, educational and health organisations. He will address the event there.

Later, an “Abhivandan” roadshow covering nearly 1.5 kilometres has also been scheduled in Vadodara between 7 pm and 7:15 pm. The route will extend from Golden Circle to Motibhai Circle before concluding at Vadodara Airport.

Vaghani described the visit as significant in the backdrop of the BJP’s recent electoral victories in states such as West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry, calling it a reflection of public support for the Prime Minister’s vision. DeshGujarat
