IMD Forecasts Pre-Monsoon Rains in These Parts of Gujarat Till June 12

Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers at isolated places across parts of Gujarat over the next seven days, while no major weather warnings have been issued for the state.
According to the latest weather bulletin issued on Saturday, rainfall activity during the coming week is expected to remain largely confined to South Gujarat, parts of North Gujarat and a few districts of Saurashtra. Most other parts of the state are likely to experience dry weather.
On June 6, isolated light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely in the North Gujarat districts of Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar; the South Gujarat districts of Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad; and the Saurashtra districts of Amreli, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath.
On June 7, similar weather conditions are likely in Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad districts, as well as in Amreli, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath.
From June 8 to June 12, rainfall activity is expected to remain concentrated mainly over South Gujarat districts such as Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad, with isolated showers also forecast in Chhota Udepur, Narmada and Surat on some days. Parts of Saurashtra, including Amreli, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath, may also receive isolated rainfall later in the forecast period.
The IMD has not issued any thunderstorm, heavy rainfall or other weather warnings for Gujarat, Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli during the next seven days.
Meanwhile, maximum temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the state during the forecast period. Ahmedabad recorded the highest maximum temperature in Gujarat at 41.3 degrees Celsius on Saturday and is likely to witness a partly cloudy sky with the temperature reaching around 42 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
The weather office said the southwest monsoon has advanced further into parts of the Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and other regions of the country.
