GSRTC Adds 5 New AC Volvo Buses to Rajkot Division for Bhuj and Vadodara Routes

Rajkot: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has allotted five new Volvo buses to the Rajkot division to strengthen premium intercity connectivity. Of the new buses, three will operate on the Rajkot–Bhuj route and two on the Rajkot–Vadodara route.

The addition comes in response to growing passenger demand for comfortable and faster travel options. GSRTC officials said the new buses will enhance the frequency of Volvo services on two of the division’s busiest routes.

Last week, the Rajkot division had already received two Volvo buses, which are currently operating on the Rajkot–Vadodara route. With the latest allotment of five more Volvo buses, the division’s premium fleet has expanded further.

Officials also announced that six new AC buses are expected to be added to the Rajkot division soon. These buses will be deployed on routes connecting the Statue of Unity, Morbi, Jamnagar and Dahod.

At present, the Rajkot division operates 17 Volvo buses on routes linking Rajkot with Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bhuj, Gandhinagar and Nathdwara. In addition, it runs 20 AC luxury buses on routes including Bhavnagar, Una, Diu, Jamnagar, Surendranagar, Dwarka, Amreli, Mahuva, Bhuj, Mundra and Junagadh.

The division also operates 20 AC electric buses on various routes, including Rajkot International Airport, Morbi, Junagadh and Jamnagar.

GSRTC currently offers hourly Volvo services on the Rajkot–Ahmedabad and Rajkot–Vadodara routes, while additional Volvo services operate on the Rajkot–Bhuj route during peak travel hours.
