Heavy Vehicles Banned on Vaishnodevi circle – Gandhinagar Stretch of SG Highway

Ahmedabad: Due to the ongoing four-laning expansion project near Narmada canal on Sarkhej – Gandhinagar highway (SG highway), a regular traffic jam is witnessed in peak hours. The administration has now prohibited heavy vehicles movement here and given a diversion.
As per the order, no heavy vehicles are to be allowed on the stretch between Vaishnodevi circle to Gh-0 circle on both directions. However the government vehicles, emergency vehicles, school buses and staff buses are allowed.
The notification in this regard is issued by Additional District Magistrate Vipul Thakkar. It will be effective upto 15 January 2027 for six months period.
Alternate route for heavy vehicles:
– Heavy vehicles to Gandhinagar, Kalol, Mahesana, Rajasthan side to divert to Vaishnodevi circle to SP ring road to Zundal circle to Adalaj road to Balapir circle to North.
Heavy vehicles coming from Kalol, Mahesana, Rajasthan to shift to Adalaj, Balapir circle, Zundal circle, SP ring road.
Heavy vehicles from Gandhinagar to Vaishnodevi circle will shift to Balair circle, Zundal circle, SP ring road to South and West.
Heavy vehicles to container yard will be allowed to enter Vaishnodevi circle to Gandhinagar and reach the Container yard. DeshGujarat
