Vadodara Boy Dies After Neck Gets Trapped in Bus Door; Missing CCTV Footage Raises Suspicion

Vadodara: A seven-year-old boy died after his neck was allegedly trapped in the automatic door of a luxury bus parked at a repair facility on the road connecting Suryanagar-Tarsali Bypass and Dhanyavi in Vadodara. The child, identified as Divyesh, had reportedly left home to collect prasad when the incident occurred.

The circumstances surrounding the boy’s death remain unclear, with approximately 15 minutes of CCTV footage missing from the period around the incident, raising questions about what happened. Kapurai police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the child’s death.

According to the family, Divyesh was a Class 2 student at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Primary School in Tarsali-2. His father, Rakeshbhai Rathwa, works at S.R. Biogas Company near Suryanagar.

Rathwa said the child had returned from school and later left home to collect prasad. After some time, family members were informed that he was missing. They were later told about the incident and rushed to the spot, where the child was found lying near the bus door.

The child was taken to SSG Hospital in Vadodara in a 108 ambulance. However, doctors declared him dead after an initial examination.

Following the incident, Kapurai police reached SSG Hospital, completed inquest proceedings and initiated legal formalities, including a postmortem examination.

15-minute CCTV footage missing

During the investigation, police found CCTV footage showing the child before and after the incident. However, approximately 15 minutes of footage covering the crucial period around the incident was reportedly missing.

A preliminary explanation is that a power outage in the area may have caused the gap in the recording. However, the absence of footage from the crucial period has raised questions about how the child’s neck became trapped in the bus’s automatic door.

Police are examining the available CCTV recordings and other technical aspects as part of the investigation to establish the exact sequence of events.

The boy’s father has urged police to thoroughly examine the CCTV footage and determine the circumstances surrounding his son’s death, seeking justice for the family. DeshGujarat
