From Wembley to World’s Largest Stadium: Diljit Dosanjh Announces Ahmedabad Show at Narendra Modi Stadium

Ahmedabad: Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh announced during his concert at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday, September 12, that his next performance will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The announcement, made as part of his ongoing Aura World Tour, drew loud cheers from the audience.

Dosanjh later revealed the date of the Ahmedabad concert, telling the crowd, “We are doing Narendra Modi Stadium on November 21, 2026.” The show will mark his return to Ahmedabad following his Dil-Luminati India Tour in 2024. Details regarding tickets, prices and bookings for the November concert have not yet been announced.

Talking about the venue, Dosanjh described the Narendra Modi Stadium as India’s biggest stadium and referred to Coldplay’s previous concert there.

Referring to Coldplay, he said, “The biggest stadium is in India – Narendra Modi Stadium. Ek gore group ne waha pe sell out kar diya tha. Respect for them, bohot mubarkan. India mein stadium ho, aur Punjabi udhar na ho, yeh toh phir ho nahi sakta (The biggest stadium is in India — Narendra Modi Stadium. A foreign band sold it out completely. Respect to them, many congratulations! But if there’s a stadium in India and a Punjabi isn’t performing there, that’s just impossible).”

Dosanjh also made history at Wembley by becoming the first Punjabi singer to headline the iconic venue. He opened the concert with “Punjabi Aa Gaye Wembley Oye (The Punjabis have arrived at Wembley)!” and told the packed audience that the occasion would “go down in the history books.”

The more than two-hour performance featured several of his popular tracks, including GOAT, Lover, Hass Hass and Born to Shine.

The 90,000-capacity stadium witnessed fans from diverse backgrounds singing and dancing to Dosanjh’s music. The singer also interacted with the audience and invited several fans onto the stage, including children and an elderly woman.

The concert concluded with Main Hoon Punjabi, followed by a fireworks display, with the Wembley performance also becoming the stage for Dosanjh’s announcement of his upcoming Ahmedabad show.  DeshGujarat
