New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conversed over a video call to Flydubai pilot Smit Machchar, a braveheart whose timely action not just saved over 100 passengers from hijack but also averted a major crisis in entire Middle East region. Smit Machchar during the talk had tears in his eyes on receiving call from none other but the Prime Minister of India. Machchar told PM Modi, he was chanting Hanuman Chalisa during crisis in the flight. Both spoke in Gujarati also at the end portion of the video.
What they conversed in Gujarati language?
Here’s a rough translation:
Modi: Jayshri Krishna, brother. Let’s talk a little in Gujarati.
Smit: Jayshri Krishna.
Modi: Do (both your kids – PM mentions their names) speak Gujarati or not?
Smit: Both speak Gujarati. First, we taught them Gujarati, and only later did we teach them English.
Modi: Did you meet the children? Did the doctor allow them to meet you?
Smit: My elder daughter had come, but she got scared. She is very close to me. My younger son is two years old, and he was not allowed.
Modi: Yes, for now, take care. Sonalben is a strong lady. She spoke to me with composure and did not complain even slightly. I also spoke to Bhupendrabhai and Gitaben (Smit’s parents) at Mumbai airport, but there was no complain at all. They were saying that God will do only good.
Smit: Yes yes. (Not Clear)
Modi: Jai Shri Krishna. Get well very soon, and we shall meet then.
Smit: Yes sir.
Modi: Yes. God Bless You.
Smit: Jay Hind.
Modi: Jay Hind.
