Rs 2,125 Crore Upgrade Approved for 196-km NH-351G Corridor in Gujarat

New Delhi: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced approval for upgrading a 196-km stretch of National Highway-351G in Gujarat from Nageshri through Amreli to Chotila at a cost of ₹2,125.55 crore.

The project will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) and will upgrade the highway to a two-lane road with paved shoulders.

As part of the project, the Amreli Bypass, Jasdan–Atkot–Babra section and the Chotila city portion will be upgraded to a four-lane road with paved shoulders.

According to the announcement, the existing highway corridor has been facing issues related to traffic congestion and road accidents. The proposed upgrades are aimed at improving the highway’s capacity, safety and operational efficiency.

The project is also expected to strengthen connectivity across the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, particularly between the districts of Amreli, Rajkot and Surendranagar.

The upgraded corridor will facilitate smoother movement of passengers and goods and improve road connectivity between key towns and districts along the route.

The project is part of efforts to improve the capacity and safety of major highway corridors in Gujarat and address existing traffic and connectivity constraints.
