Gandhinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Dr. Naresh Desai as president of the Gujarat state Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
Desai, who hails from Patan in North Gujarat, was serving as the state general secretary of the BJYM-Gujarat. He will succeed Dr. Hemang Joshi, who was recently appointed national president of the BJP’s youth wing by the party’s central leadership.
Desai has also previously held the position of state secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Gujarat and was also a member of the Gujarat University Senate.
Desai was associated with the Gujarat BJYM during the tenure of Dr. Prashant Korat as its state president. Korat has since risen through the ranks of the Gujarat BJP and currently serves as a state general secretary, overseeing South Gujarat and the party headquarters.
Desai’s elevation marks another organisational appointment from the BJP’s student and youth leadership network in Gujarat. DeshGujarat
