Gujarat University Postpones UG, PG Semester Exams
October 21, 2026
Ahmedabad: Gujarat University has postponed its undergraduate Semester 5 and postgraduate Semester 3 examinations from October 22 to October 27.
According to the revised timetable issued by the examination department, Semester 5 examinations for undergraduate Arts, Commerce, Science and other courses, along with postgraduate Semester 3 examinations, will now begin on October 27. The examinations were originally scheduled to start on October 22, shortly after Navratri.
Meanwhile, the revised schedule has renewed discussions about a possible change to the November examination dates. Several students have opposed the November schedule, saying they would have to return to campus during the Diwali holidays to appear for their examinations.
Some faculty members have also reportedly objected to being assigned examination duties during the vacation.
Amid concerns raised by students and faculty members, the university may also reconsider the schedule for other Semester 3 examinations, which are currently set to begin on November 18, during the Diwali vacation. DeshGujarat
