Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has today announced fifth list of candidates for Gujarat assembly general elections 2017. The latest list consists 13 candidates for second phase election.

Kadva Patel giant Narayan Lallu Patel (NL Patel ) has been repeated as candidate on Unjha seat of North Gujarat contrary to speculations and Surat Collector MS Patel will replace him.

Vijaupr Congress sitting MLA had joined BJP early this year. However he has not been selected as candidate. Ramanbhai Patel (Star Line) has been selected as BJP candidate instead.

Gujarati film actor Hitu Kanodia who is son of actor and former BJP MLA Naresh Kanodia has been given ticket to contest from Idar seat which was earlier represented by Speaker Ramanlal Vora. Hitu had in 2012 contested from Kadi seat which is reserved for Schedule Caste(SC). However he couldn’t win. This time he has been given Idar(SC) ticket while Idar MLA Ramanlal Vora has been shifted to Dasada seat which is reserved for SC. Amit Chaudhary who left Congress and joined BJP around Rajya Sabha election early this year has been given BJP ticket. Chaudhary is Shankersinh Confidant who joined BJP.

Contrary to speculations that Gordhan Zadafia may replace him, MoS Vallabh Kakadia has been repeated on Thakkarbapanagar seat in Ahmedabad as BJP candidate.
BJP chief whip in assembly Pankaj Desai has been repeated again on Nadiad seat.

Kaalol seat has been given to Panchmahal MP Prabhatsinh Chauhan family. Prabhatsinh had threatened to contest as independent if ticket was denied to his wife. Party has fielded Prabhatsinh’s daughter in law now as candidate. Prabhatsinh’s son Pravinsinh had early this year left Congress and rejoined BJP.
