Bhavnagar Police recover Rs. 38 lakh cash linked to Yuvrajsinh Jadeja extortion case

Bhavnagar: The police have recovered ₹38 lakhs from a friend of Kanbha Gohil, who is the brother of extortion case accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja’s wife, in connection with the dummy candidate scam case.

After the details of the extortion case emerged in public, Kanbha had given the cash money to his friend Jeet Hitendrabhai Mandaviya, a resident of Bhavnagar. Kanbha then escaped to Surat where he was arrested later.  The police recovered a locked bag containing money from Jeet’s house today in the presence of witnesses.

Police could trace the location of the money after Kabha revealed it during his questioning.

On April 22nd, the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Bhavnagar Police booked and arrested Yuvrajsinh, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and others under sections 386, 388, and 120B pertaining to extortion and criminal conspiracy in a complaint filed at the Nilambagh police station. Yuvrajsinh Yuvrajsinh made his name by exposing alleged irregularities in competitive and recruitment exams in recent years. However, he is now facing allegations of collecting money from those involved in the dummy exam candidates scam in Bhavnagar, in exchange for not revealing their names in press conferences and interactions. Last week, a viral video circulated that alleged that Yuvrajsinh had collected a significant amount of money to keep quiet about some individuals involved in the exam-related scam.

Yuvrajsinh appeared before the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Bhavnagar Police on April 21st. He was subsequently arrested by the police and sent to police remand for 7 days by the court. DeshGujarat
