IndiGo to operate Ahmedabad-Ayodhya Tri-Weekly flights from January 11

Ahmedabad: IndiGo is set to be the first airline operating flights for the upcoming Ayodhya Airport. The budget airline plans to commence direct flights between Ayodhya and Ahmedabad starting January 11.
As Ayodhya prepares for the inauguration of the grand Shri Ram Janamsthan temple on January 22, other airlines are also gearing up to connect to the holy city, anticipating a surge in visitors.
In a media statement, the airline announced, “IndiGo will have the honour of being the first carrier to operate from the soon to be inaugurated Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya. The inaugural flight from Delhi will arrive in Ayodhya on December 30, 2023. Subsequently, commercial operations for a direct flight will commence between Delhi and Ayodhya from January 6, 2024, followed by tri-weekly flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya from January 11, 2024.”
As per the website of Indigo, the flight from Ahemdabad to Ayodhya will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. It will take off from SVPI Airport here at 9:10 am and land in Ayodhya at 11 am.
The introduction of these flights aligns with the upcoming inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in January 2024, anticipating a significant increase in traveller numbers.
