Bardoli: Should you drive on partially finished highway streches of the Delhi – Mumbai Expressway? Daily lot of vehicles pass through the partially finished highway stretches but such journey involves risk, especially in the dark hours.
An incident has come to light in which a speeding car veered off the unfinished expressway, mounting a pile of soil and launching itself 40 feet into the air before overturning. The accident occured on Friday night around 9 pm near Moti Naroli. Two occupants of the car were trapped underneath and sustained fractures. They were rescued by locals from Hathoda village and rushed to a nearby hospital. The driver escaped the accident uninjured. The occupants of the car are believed to be residents of Buhar.
It’s worth noting that while the highway stretch between Bardoli and Moti Naroli is completed, the remaining portion of this highway is yet to be constructed fully. The construction work of the Delhi – Mumbai Expressway in Gujarat is extremely delayed and going on at snail pace at most of the places. The highway connecting Vadodara to Bharuch only is open for traffic. While the portion from Dahod to Vadodara and Bharuch to Mumbai are not even near completion. DeshGujarat
