Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 8 February, 2009

Ahmedabad Police have got a fleet of Delhi type Police Control Room (PCR) vehicles to help people in need quickly and maintain law and order in the city with extra vigil at different locations.
Each PCR will consist a team of head constable or Assistant Sub Inspector, armed policeman trained as commando, wireless operator and driver.
Initially PCRs are to be deployed at 18 strategic locations across the city in different areas. Complains received by Police Control Room(100 no. fame) will be directly routed to nearest PCR van deployed in concerned area. PCR van would reach to the place of crime incident in minutes after directed by Control Room. This model has already been successfully implemented in 108 ambulance service.
Ahmedabad Police officials have selected 116 Assistant Sub Inspectors, Head Constables and Constables for 18 squads of PCR. PCR would work in three shifts round the clock from this week.
