There is good news for Border Security Force(BSF) jawans, doing their duty on India/Pakistan border in Rann of Kutch area of Gujarat.
The government of India has approved their long-time pending demand of hardship allowance, and declared Rann of Kutch border as ‘had area’.
Inspector General of Gujarat Frontier of Border Security Force told DeshGujarat that about 20,000 jawans will be benefited by new ‘Modified field area allowance’. Each jawan will be getting average 1800 Rs per month extra due to this new development. According to him, new allowance will come into effect this month only.
It should be mentioned that hardship allowance to BSF jawans on duty in Rann of Kutch, was one of the centre-state issue between government of Gujarat and central government.
Duty in Rann of Kutch area is challenging due to strange geography of this area. For half a year, the land of Ran of Kutch remains white, salty, marshy, and for other six months, it looks like a shallow sea. Whole Rann of Kutch is uninhabited area, because it is geographically not suitable for human population. However hundreds of BSF jawans are doing their duty in the Rann itself, facing all difficulties, to protect the border.
