-One old person was burnt alive today in Chharodi near Sanand in property dispute. There was actually an attempt to burn entire family alive. Extra police force has been deployed in the village in connection with this event. After Tata Motors arrived near Sanand with Nano car manufacturing plant, the prices of property have rocketed in Sanand belt. This has resulted into several property related incidents of violence, too many court cases related to land, police cases and tension.
-MJP leader Gordhan Zadafia and BJP MLA Kanubhai Kalsaria(Mahuva) today addressed a press conference in Ahmedabad to announce their rally on Wednesday on city’s Ashram road against government’s move to allocate Narmada canal water to the industries. Zadafia pointed out that according to Narmada tribunal order 80% water of Narmada project should go to farmers, but the state government wants to give water of Maliya branch canal to industries against the good of farmers.
-Ahmedabad Police Crime Branch today arrested seven members of Irani gang. This gang confessed 70 acts of crime. This gang originally from Maharashtra used to dupe women on roadsides in the name of police, stealing their valuables and ornaments.
-Parts of Saurashtra’s Rajkot city and Amreli districts experienced round of shower on Tuesday.
-The Gujarat High Court has directed the state government for chargesheet against Gujarat University Vice Chancellor in one-month period in connection with a case of atrocity against him lodged by University employee.
-Due to Lunar eclipse on 15th June, Shri Somnath Mandir will not conduct evening aarti.
-Ahmedabad is relieved from temporary water supply cut as repairing work in Kadana dam is over. The city will get two-time water supply now onwards as enough water is released from Kadana dam.
-All private doctors in Mahesana are observing one-day-strike today against alleged attack on one doctor.
-Shiv Sena organized Ram dhoon in Rajkot’s Nirmala convent school against alleged misbehave with the students and parents.
-Surat city today experienced rain from the morning itself. Round of shower was also experienced in other parts of the district.
-Media persons in Ahmedabad protested against Mumbai Mid-Day’s journalist J.Dey’s murder and staged dharna outside the Gandhi Ashram. They later went to Ahmedabad’s district Collector office and submitted a memorandum.
-Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be felicitated by Royal families of Gujarat’s erstwhile desi kingdoms on 19 June at Wankaner. The Chief Minister will be visiting Rampara vidi near Wankaner where a group of lions/lionesses are relocated from Gir sanctuary. Rampara vidi is great success for Gujarat’s forest department because relocated lioness gave birth to cub here around mothers day recently.
-David Coleman Headley, a co-accused in the 26/11 attacks told the Chicago court last month that the Gujarat riots was very often the topic of discussion among them. He said the Gujarat riot was motivating to him to carry “jihad” against India. From 2002 till 2007, the Lashkar office itself had received hundreds of letters from Muslims in Gujarat asking for help,” Headley told the court in response to a question from the attorney. Headley told the court of having shown by the LeT leaders the hidden-camera interview of one Baba Bajrangi. These videos were shown at Muzzaffarabad headquarters. “All of us spent a few weeks there watching videos of different actions that had taken place in India against Muslims,” Headley told the court in response to a question. “We saw a lot of videos of India,” Headley said adding that these videos were seen in the company of top LeT leaders and his Pak handlers including Zaki ur- Rehman, Sajid Mir and Muzammill.
