Gujarat Congress to organize farmers mega convention, yatras in four major cities of the state(Video)

Gujarat Congress core committee meeting was held at GPCC headquarter in Ahmedabad today afternoon to discuss party’s next set of programmes ahead of the Gujarat assembly election scheduled to take place in December this year.

Speaking briefly to media, Gujarat Congress President Shri Arjun Modhwadia said that the meeting was attended by party’s main leaders from various cities and districts.

Shri Modhwadia said that on 23rd the party will organize a mega convention of farmers in Gandhinagar on the issue of electricity. He said the meeting also discussed various programs that are to be held in four metro cities of the state.

Meanwhile the party statement on today’s core committee meeting said that the party will take ‘Hisab do jawab do’ movement to the streets of four metro cities of Gujarat.

The statement said that copies of books on issues related to urban areas will be distributed in four major cities.

According to party leaders, four yatras will be organized in four main cities of the state. The first yatra will be starting from the city of Surat on 25th of this month. While Surat yatra will continue till 5th of March, the Ahmedabad yatra will be organized between 26th of February and 5th of March. Rajkot and Vadodara will witness similar yatras during 1st of March and 5th of March.

As per the plan, such yatras will move to various wards everyday between 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm. Everyday three public meetings will be held in the course of the yatra. Two senior leaders of Congress will remain present and address the public meetings.

The meeting headed by GPCC President Shri Arjunbhai Modhwadia was attended by Shri Shankersinh Vaghela, Bharatsinh Solanki, Siddharth Patel and Narhari Amin among others.

It should be mentioned here that barring some Muslim localities, Gujarat Congress has nearly zero presence in urban areas of the state. There are as many as 72 seats located in urban areas of Gujarat.
