Ajad island gets lamppost, for the first time in its history

For the first time in its history, Jamnagar district’s Ajad island saw a street light.
Ajad, located at 30 km from Okha port in Arabian sea has population of less than 100. About 8-10 families living here are involved in farming. It takes three hours to reach the island from Jamnagar.
As a part of Jamnagar Marine National Park run Comprehensive Coastal Area Management Project, solar street lights were made functional yesterday in presence of local Forest officials and villagers.
