A Muslim majority town in Gujarat elects all BJP candidates, 88.88% of them Muslims

Saurashtra’s Salaya town has 95% population of Muslims. Salaya witnessed Municipal election last Sunday for 27 seats. Today after counting, BJP has been declared winner on all 27 seats. Of them 24 winner candidates are Muslims, while 3 are Hindus.
After the assembly polls last year, BJP has continued its victory march in Muslims dominated areas of the state. BJP candidate Sirajbhai Ghanchi has been victorious in Vanthli while Ilyasbhai Modi has secured victory in Visavdar. Another BJP candidate Salimbhai Sandhi is winner in Dhrol municipality election.
In Kodinar, BJP fielded 8 Muslim candidates, all are victorious. Similarly in Kalavad 4 Muslim candidates of BJP are winner. BJP’s Muslim candidates are declared winner in Manavdar, Talaja and Rapar also.
According to BJP’s minority cell leader Kadat Salot, only in Saurashtra region, BJP’s 49 minority candidates are declared winner.
