Annual art exhibition of Fine Arts Faculty sparks controversy every year for some reason.

This year, nude paintings of third year student Anuradha Upadhyay are in discussion.

Anuradha Upadhyay who is originally from Uttar Pradesh, but settled in Vadodara with her parents has exhibited nude paintings featuring herself in Fine Arts Faculty exhibition.

Speaking to media persons on first day of two-day long exhibition Anuradha said that society may not accept her paintings, but then she can’t change her art or thoughts due to this. She said her definition of beauty is different from others. She believes she is beautiful only when she is nude.

She said nudity is not big deal in her paintings, but the message she wants to convey is important. Some paintings feature her totally nude, some partially nude and some with proper dress.

Anuradha said that she has expressed her pain and her experience through paintings. She said girls are married in Uttar Pradesh in early age, and they face a lot due to this.

She said she herself was married in early age and she faced a lot due to this. She said she even faced trouble while attempting to enter the Fine Arts college in Vadodara. Anuradha said she found other women facing same problem.
