Communal clash in Veraval, five injured

Mobs of Muslims were on rampage in Veraval town in Junagadh district of Gujarat on Friday afternoon. Violent mobs of Muslims torched six vehicles, pelted stones over Police vehicles and created chaos in Gandhi chowk area for almost an hour. At least five persons were injured in Hindu/Muslim clash, that sparked off due to some verbal argument over local cricket match between youths. Police used lathi charge, lobbed tear gas shells and also fired few rounds in air to control the situation. Extra police staff was called in and deployed in sensitive areas. District Police Chief is directly supervising the situation. More details are awaited on this story.
