Mumbai, 27 June 2013
Speaking at a book launch function in Mumbai, former BJP President Shri Nitin Gadkari said that Maharashtra is better equipped, but the state has not Narendra Modi.
Gadkari said, “Modi built five lakh check dams in Gujarat. I built four, and through them five thousand people were benefited.”
Gadkari listed out Modi’s work in the field of communication, cotton, bio-fuel etc.
He said, “I am pained to say that our farmers commit suicide. But when I was in China, the cotton there was known as Gujarat cotton. I think Maharashtra has lots of facilities, Mumbai is financial capital, but our agricultural growth rate is lower, at around two percent. There’s no problem with the system. The problem is with the vision.”
After Gadkari’s speech, an announcer said that it’s pleasure to have Mr. Modi at Bombay Stock Exchange. His visit is so auspicious that sensex is 300 point up.
