Heavy rains left a majority of roads in national capital New Delhi flooded, and caused a pile-up of traffic at key intersections on Saturday. The intensity of the rain was such that, it lasted for around four hours. Places like ITO, Laxmi Nagar, Moti Bagh, Kashmiri Gate, Munirka, Dwarka and Dhaula Kuan reported vehicle breakdowns and cars in line for long stretches. Commuters had a hard time travelling due to poor visibility and pedestrians were seen wading through streets flooded by overflowing drains.
At present, there has been a let-up on showers, though the atmosphere remains cloudy, suggesting more rains towards the evening and in the night.
