Ahmedabad, 13 January 2014
The fight between two groups claiming to represent Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat reached police station again on Monday evening.
One group led by state convener Sukhdev Patel reached Vejalpur Police station against the other group led by Manish Brahmbhatt and claimed that Brahmbhatt and his supporters created ruckus at AAP’s Ayojan Nagar based office and took away AAP caps and stamp material with them. They said they called police control room number, and Manish and others could be removed from AAP office only by police later on.
It should be mentioned that last week Manish Brahmbhatt led AAP faction had published an advertisement in local newspaper and invited those wishing to become AAP members to contact his office. The other faction of AAP led by Sukhdev Patel had given an application in Navrangpura police station against this advertisement.
While Manish claims he represents AAP in Gujarat, Sukhdev Patel claims his faction is real.
Speaking to media persons, Manish Brahmbhatt said, “we went to AAP office at Ayojan nagar to submit a memorandum and to tell the AAP team led by Sukhdev Patel that by lodging complaint against us, they had not done right thing. They didn’t accept the memorandum and said that they were not authorized to receive it.”
AAP’s one faction’s office is located at Ayojan nagar society in Ambawadi area while other faction’s office is located at Sardar Patel stadium area. At both places, new members are enrolled, but forms are different.
Meanwhile in other development, Mallika Sarabhai who joined AAP before last week has complained again the stand of AAP leader Kumar Vishwas on certain issues. She said Vishwas’s attitude towards homosexuals, minority and women is problematic.
