Narendra Modi to dedicate golden shikhar of Shri Somnath mandir

Finally Gujarat Chief Minister and Trustee of Shree Somnath Trust Shri Narendra Modi has allotted time to dedicate the Swarnim Kalash of Shri Somnath Mandir.
According to the details available, Shri Modi will arrive at Somnath on 1st February to open the Golden top of the mandir. Chairman of Shree Somnath Trust Shri Keshubhai Patel will also remain present on this occasion.
Trishul, Dhwaj dand and Shikhar of Shri Somnath mandir are made golden through 10 kd gold donated by well-wishers from Surat and Mumbai. 15 police jawans and Shree Somnath Trust employees accompanied a truck that brought golden objects to mandir from Delhi. According to Vijay Anand from Delhi, the layer of gold with specialized coating is so thick that golden top will remain as it is for next couple of hundred years.
Earlier a donor from Surat had donated 35 kg gold, through which the Garbha griha and pillars have been made golden.
The task of making the Shikhar golden was completed some time back with the help of two dozen skilled workers, following which Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s time was sought for dedication ceremony. It is understood that Mr. Modi has finally given time.
It should be mentioned that in February, Somnath will witness arrival of large number of visitors due to Maha Shivratri.
