Anandiben Patel to join Rajkot West campaign, Patidar voters in focus

Chief Minister Anandiben Patel will be visiting Rajkot city on Thursday, October 9 to join campaign for BJP candidate Vijay Rupani who is contesting Rajkot West assembly by-election.

Vijay Rupani’s main contest is with Congress candidate 72-year-old Jayantibhai Kalaria.

Rajkot West seat is witnessing by-poll due to resignation of last elected candidate Vajubhai Vala. Shri Vala resigned from this seat after his nomination as Governor of Karnataka.

Rajkot West is traditionally one of the safest seats for BJP. However in this by-poll, rival Congress party has given casteist twist. Congress has fielded Kadva Patidar community candidate and it is contesting the poll on caste agenda. Vijaybhai belongs to Jain community. Rajkot West constituency has presence of majority Kadva Patidar voters.

To please Patidar voters, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel is likely to visit prominent member of Kadva Patel community Maulesh Patel. She will also visit Leuva Patidar community leader Naresh Patel.

According to BJP insiders, Anandiben will arrive at Rajkot airport at 4.00 pm and straight away drive to Panchvati society at Maulesh Patel’s house where she will join gettogather of Kadva Patidar community members over tea-snacks.

She will address women’s gathering on Amin road. She will address other gathering at Atmiya complex on Kalavar road which would be joined by Atmiya parivar members.

She will address another gathering of persons from educational field at 7.30 pm.

At 8.30 pm she will have dinner at Khodaldham trust head Naresh Patel’s house in Astron society.

Leuva Patel maha sammelan

BJP has called a Maha sammelan of Leuva Patel community under the leadership of MP Vitthalbhai Radadia and state party president RC Faldu.About 20,000 Leuva Patel community members are likely to attend this function in Satyam party plot on 150 ft ring road.

Vitthalbhai wants to ensure defeat of Congress candidate Jayantibhai Kalaria as Kalaria had worked against him in Upleta when Radadia was contesting Porbandar Lok Sabha seat against Kandhal Jadeja early this year.

Vitthalbhai and his son Jayesh Radadia who is MoS in Gujarat government both are camping in Rajkot to ensure victory of Vijaybhai Rupani.

Leuva Patel leaders Govind Patel, Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Naresh Patel among others will attend the maha sammelan which will be followed by dinner on Sunday.
