BJP wins 34 of 46 local body seats in Gujarat by-polls, snatches away 7 seats from Congress

Gujarat BJP today said the party has continued its victory march in Gujarat in local body by-polls.

State party spokesperson Shri IK Jadeja said BJP has won 34 out of 46 local body seats that went for by-poll.

Sharind the details of the results declared today, Shri Jadeja said, BJP has snatched away 3 district panchayat seats from Congress and won all four district panchayat seats that went to poll.

The party has also won one seat(Kankaria ward) in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation by-poll.

Earlier, party had 14 taluka panchayat seats in its fold, but today the figure has gone up with victory on 22 taluka panchayat seats.

He said, BJP has snatched away 7 seats from Congress and 1 from independent, and thus has added 8 seats to its fold. Overall, the party has now 34 seats in its fold, up from earlier figure of 26.

He said party has continued its series of victories since last 13 years. People have supported ruling government by voting in favor of BJP.

He said Congress’s Kadi municipality candidate has lost deposit. Party has won Kutch district panchayat’s Netra seat with margin of 1,000 votes. This is the area where Congress’s Shaktisinh had won Abdasa assembly seat in the past by margin of just 700 votes.

He said,Mangrol taluka panchayat’s Miti seat in Junagadh district and Ahmedabad district’s Shahpur seat both were with Congress for last two decades, but now BJP has captured them both. BJP has got Dhanera taluka panchayat’s Dharnodhar seat for the first time after formation of Gujarat.
