Rajkot-Delhi Air India service from 15 February:Saurabh Patel

Air India will start Rajkot-Delhi flight service from February, said Civil Aviation Minister of Gujarat Shri Saurabh Patel today in Ahmedabad. He said the service will start from 15 February. He said people of Saurashtra had to come to Ahmedabad to catch flight for Delhi, but now they will be able to catch flight from Rajkot airport itself.
Patel made this announcement after meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajpati Raju who was in Ahmedabad today to attend a review meeting on civil aviation department related issues pertaining to Gujarat. One of the issues raised in this meeting was about Rajkot-Delhi air connectivity which is long pending demand of Gujarat government before the centre.
Rajkot is the main city of Saurashtra/Kutch region. It is presently connected to Mumbai via air route.
