Somnath temple’s Light and Sound show in new 3D avatar to start from April, recording in Big B’s voice completed

Somnath (Gujarat): The recording for the popular light and sound show of famous Somnath temple in legendary actor Amitabh Banchchan’s voice has been completed and the show in its new 3 D avatar will start from April this year.

Somnath Temple Trust In-charge General Manager Vijay Chavda today informed this.

”It was decided to upgrade the laser based show which had started way back in 2001. The current version has voices of Bollywood actors Amrish Puri and Paresh Raval. The new show in a three dimensional (3 D) version will have Amitabh Bachhan’s voice. Paresh Rawal’s voice has also been included in the new show, he said.

”The recording of the new show is complete. But works regarding the installation of related hardware and software and preparing new control room for the show are still to be finished. The show in its new avatar will start from April this year”,the GM of the managing trust of the historic temple, deemed first among the 12 jyotirlingas of lord Shiva situated on the coast of Indian ocean in Prabhas Patan (Somnath) of Gir-Somnath district of Gujarat, said.

Notably, Big B is also the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism and his ‘Khushbu Gujarat Ki’ and other ads have attracted numerous tourists to this western state.
The laser based light and sound show, which throws light on the historic background of the temple also famous for its grandeur, is organized after evening aarati behind the temple and is very popular among visitors.

To a query regarding the ongoing chemical treatment and painting of the temple Chavda said that it was needed to avoid further damage to the stone of the sea facing temple caused by continuous saline air. The work which started almost a month ago is likely to be completed in next fifteen days. Well-known paint manufacturing company Narolac has provided the painting material for the temple free of coast, the GM informed.
